- If the gauge fits easily but snugly, then the correct amount of IPR has been performed. The gauge should be able to stay in the space without being held. View examples of correct gauge usage in our IPR tutorial.
- If the gauge doesn't fit inside the space, then not enough IPR has been performed.
- If there is too much space, then more space had been created between the teeth than the amount indicated on the gauge.
